What's up with Neil Peart? I just saw his picture on the back of drum mag. and he looks super good. The guy at the guitar shop said that's what happens when you're happily in love and just married.
He looks like he's 20 years younger.
Good for him !

Oh, Steve has the link to the Sabian site featuring Neil on his home page.
That's the photo! The paradigm one with Neil looking up.
The video is pretty cool too.
I saw Rush (about 4 x's) back in the 80's after Farewell to a king. Lost my socks during those shows.

Fuse1- Very rarely do I get my socks blown off. I think you pretty much know my history of naked feet now. That's pretty intimate stuff.

Check this out. I met Neil's tech at NAMM, Lorne is his name. Watched him set the new kit up Wednesday before NAMM opened, we were talking and I asked him if he had ever gone thru bass spurs he said no but keeps a set just in case. If you saw how the kick drum sits on the platform and know how hard Neil lays into the drums you would have asked the same question......anyway, he tells me that during the whole tour of last year even Rio, that he never changed drum heads.
The red kit which sits at DW now has the same drum heads from the whole tour of what 150 shows+.
Unbelievable

That's insane. His technique must be incredible. I'm going to watch that video. I thought he was kind of a slugger, but maybe all of those lessons and practicing paid off.
I watched Neil's drum video after lessons with Gruber. I can just say that Neil is really an inspiration. His drive to explore and learn techniques after all of these years and his intellect inspire me.
Seems like he's turning into a ninja drummer.

I was watching that Journey DVD and for all the big arm movement Smith does, he is NOT really hitting the drums hard. It's a big show.
But with Peart, I think he's really nailing it. I hit hard and I don't really change heads all that much. But Neil has triggers too so the sound of the drums isn't paramount...
